When I read that Prior Park Landscape Garden included a hilltop walk that afforded views over the Bath skyline, I immediately wanted to visit.

The 1-mile steep uphill walk from the centre of Bath was painful in the summer heat but it was definitely worth it for the views, not only of the Bath skyline, but of the garden itself.

Prior Park contains one of only four Palladian bridges left in the world (a second being at Stowe Gardens, which is also in my NT gallery). The bridge was much loved by the early inhabitants of the estate and contains some very intricate Georgian graffiti.
