We lived in Milton Keynes for two years, when my husband took a job in the town. At first I was reluctant to leave Cheltenham for this 'new town', with its reputation for concrete cows and roundabouts. However, I soon came to love the place. The suburbs of the town have some beautiful green spaces, and the fantastic network of cycle paths meant that we could explore them without even venturing on to a road. The centre of Milton Keynes might not have much character, but the town has a lot more to offer than its brutalist shopping mall. Even the concrete cows are cute in their own way!
